WhatsApp Commands for Tenants
Once you've verified yourself, you can check on a repair, look up your lease dates, or see your full maintenance history — all in the same WhatsApp thread you used to report it. Here's every command in one place.

Getting there
These only work once you've verified yourself on WhatsApp — a one-off check using your name, address, and a code emailed to you. See How Tenant Verification Works on WhatsApp if you haven't done that yet.
HELP
Send HELP any time to see this list inside WhatsApp.
Your dashboard — always available
Send any of these any time.
STATUSYour open issues, each with its current status and the latest update.
HISTORYYour last 20 maintenance records for the property, open and closed.
LEASEYour lease's start and end dates. For anything beyond the dates themselves, PropLog will point you to your property manager.
HELPShows this list, right inside WhatsApp.
MENUJumps to the issue-category list, if you want to report something new.
Reporting an issue for the first time? See How Tenants Submit a Maintenance Issue for the full walkthrough — category, description, a photo, and you're done.
If you've already got something open
Message the number about anything, and if you have an open issue, PropLog checks in before starting something new:
Add updateAdds what you type next to the existing issue's record — handy if something's changed or gotten worse.
New issueStarts reporting a separate, new problem instead.
When work is marked complete
Once a tradesperson marks your job done, PropLog asks you to confirm it — this is the record that protects everyone if a repair needs to be revisited.
YESConfirms the work is done. Your maintenance record is updated and the job closes.
NOPropLog asks what still needs attention — your reply reopens the job and notifies your property manager.
When a tradesperson proposes a visit time
If a tradesperson suggests a time to come by, you'll get a message like "Reply YES to confirm or NO if this time does not suit."
YESConfirms the time — the tradesperson is notified straight away.
NODeclines the time — the tradesperson is told to propose another.
Also work as a tradesperson?
Reply TRADE to register the same phone number as a tradesperson too — you'll be asked for your name and trade type, and can switch between the two any time afterwards.
A few things worth knowing:
- Reply with the word, not the number. The HELP list shows numbered options (1–5) for readability, but PropLog listens for words like STATUS or LEASE — or just tap one of the buttons under the message.
- Case doesn't matter. status, Status, and STATUS all work the same.
- Mentioning something urgent — gas, fire, flooding, and similar — adds a safety notice to PropLog's reply automatically. For anything genuinely life-threatening, call 000 first.
- Been quiet for over 24 hours? If PropLog needs to send you an update after that long, WhatsApp's own rules mean it has to ask first — reply YES to a short prompt and your update follows straight after.
